Audiobooks
Progress, chapters, speed, sleep timer, Smart Resume and bookmarks.
Pick up where you were
Under Library › Audiobooks, the books you are listening to are at the top (Continue listening). Progress is synced with your server, and your listening position also through iCloud: if you listened on another device, Sonivora continues from there.
A book’s page shows how much you have heard and how long is left. Start from the beginning starts again, Mark as played finishes the book, and the stars rate it.
Chapters and speed
In the player, Chapters lets you jump to a chapter. With Speed you listen faster or slower.
Sleep timer
Tap Sleep timer and choose a duration or End of chapter. At the end the sound fades out gently. With Shake to extend the sleep timer turned on (Settings › Playback), shake your iPhone in the last minute and the timer keeps going.
Smart Resume
After a pause, Smart Resume picks up at the start of the word or sentence instead of mid-word. You find it under Settings › Playback.
Bookmarks
Add bookmark remembers the current spot; you can add a Note. A book’s bookmarks open in the player, all of them together under Your lists › Bookmarks.
Listening list and authors
Collect books you still want to hear in Your listen list. Your authors shows a portrait and a short biography; under What it’s about the AI summarises a book without spoilers.
Audiobookshelf
Books from an Audiobookshelf server sit next to those from Plex or Jellyfin. Sonivora keeps your place in sync with Audiobookshelf: if you keep listening there in the browser or another app, Sonivora carries on from that point, and the other way round. Mark as played applies on the server too. Sonivora keeps star ratings to itself, because Audiobookshelf has none. To connect: Settings › Server › Audiobookshelf (see Getting started).
